My reason for mentioning it was that it 4371 be easier to give an opinion on the SRX as it might behave in relation to that sub. This is a chance to own a good representation of a pair of JBL X cabinets. As it was once prophesied “the wrong piece of gear at the right price is still the wrong piece of gear” I wish I could hear some of this stuff but alas I am in an area where nbl is seldom available.

The SRX Dual 15″ two-way system combines high power and extended low frequency with the simplicity of a single-box system. Also, power really isnt an issue because I will have to buy another amp to match what I buy. No factory cups and no flyware usually means standard ground stack to me unless you really pony up for certified welds on a custom rig. Dave, your title specifies a SRX, which is the old dual 12 box, but you didn’t mention anything about it in your post. An SR-X quick reference chart is available here.
MA 8″ cone transducer HF Driver: Thats where this gets a bit confusing. At home in the most demanding live sound and playback environments, the SRX delivers the performance usually associated with subwoofer equipped systems. They sound great but need a lot of power to get loud.
Stand mount doesn’t necessarily mean tripod-speaker-pole-style. It looks nice and works as it should.
JBL SR 4731 Cabinets
I am still drawn to the QRX line and it seems to make sense that the SR line for example would work well too. I have a total of 6 speakers. This originally housed two H woofers a J compression driver, a H super tweeter, and a horn.
If you don’t mind lugging them around and get them up high enough, a pair of SRX subs and a pair of SRX mains should cover you for at least people outside if I can recall from back when I owned a rig like that. It appears to be a good fit for live band duty.
