Jul 14, Amy rated it liked it. On rainy days, Nicholas will take a swim in his lake or lay in the mud. If you’re looking for something that’s actually something of a culinary travelogue, don’t get this book.
The flavor all comes from whole foods like fresh produce and grains. This book like all of Lindsay’s is a keeper and I know I’ll be experimenting with much more down the line.

However, so far, I don’t really like the layout of the book – I feel like I have to flip through the whole book abroa So far I’ve only tried a couple of the recipes in this book though I’ve read through the whole thing. First of all, I understand that it is a travelogue and while I enjoyed the pics, hsrbivore made the book too “busy,” I myself would have appreciated more recipes and fewer photos.
It isn’t bad, hence the abroda stars. This book inspired me to embrace baking cookies and muffins and crepes in new ways that I love!
Sep 25, Crystal rated it it was ok Shelves: I loved the little stories with each recipe, and how Lindsay doesn’t use a lot of nuts and oils in replace herbkvore animal products. I haven’t made anything out of this yet, though I have several marked.
I didn’t even like olives until this recipe made me appreciate them. Books by Lindsay S. True to the Happy Herbivore creed, these vegan dishes are easy to make, easy on your wallet, and completely plant-based. I’m excited about many of these recipes. Everything sounds delicious, it tells you where the recipe is from, usually a picture and substitutes you can make if needed.

I find the author quite likable, but I’m just so-so on the Happy Herbivore recipes. Apparently I’m not as enamored of this book as most people seem to be.
But it isn’t particularly good. I would also prefer to have all of the recipes from each country together instead of being separated by appetizer, main dish, etc. Add some international flavor to your vegan repertoire with this third installment from the Happy Herbivore, Lindsay Nixon.
