Reading this as a father of a one year old and a three month old, i can’t help tearing up especially towards the end of the book. He was critically wounded in when he was struck by machine-gun fire at point blank range.

It is a deeply personal, revealing glimpse inside the SEAL Team SIX brotherhood that also shows how these elite operators live out the rest of blehhm lives, away from danger, as husbands, fathers and friends. In fact, other than the point that he did graduate SEAL school, the story was more about where he had come from instead of the process of acceptance.
Adam never said the word no. But recently, I have discovered that learning from the lives of others has incredible benefits for my life. And then the story turns to that fateful mission that cost him his life and I can’t help but think what if. But again, I personally will not shelve this book among the greatest books I have read.
I appreciated his acts of kindness toward the Afghan children, and reic brave witnessing to hardened SEALs. Faith should be something personal anyway which is why I don’t like organized religions aka The Church or other institutions because they try to shove it down your throat.
