I happened upon a copy in languxge used book store and it immediately grabbed my attention. Published March 8th by Clarendon Press first published December 31st Amazon Renewed Refurbished products with a warranty. The Language of Music Mueic Paperbacks. Highly recommended to anyone trying to understand how music works.

There was a problem filtering reviews right now. For those who love Vaughan Williams’s atypical but emotionally shattering Sixth Symphony, Cooke’s analysis is worth the price of the entire book.

This was a real bargain! Cooke closes the book with extended analysis of Mozart’s Fortieth and Vaughan-Williams’ Sixth languagr, showing how all the individual elements discussed previously come together in a fully realized work.
The Language of Music
I only read this because it looked interesting in a bibliography for another book, but the author of that one must have picked the most readily understandable parts for his book, so there wasn’t anything else really great in this one.
