Another thing common to these novels: The other two Moya books I’ve read are Senselessness and El asco: Sex This was funny and truly bizarre. He has published eleven novels, five short story collections, two essay books, and a diary.
It’s witty, weird and wonderful. The ending was a bit predictable, minus the most bizarre erotic writing I’ve ever read.
I believe he is excellent when it comes to weird, violent stories like ‘El Asco’, but less so and descending to silliness when it comes to political commentary.

As a fiction writer, he was granted residencies in a program supported by the Frankfurt International Book Fair and in the City of Asylum program in Pittsburgh From any other author, or one who had not written SenselessnessI would regard this as a stunning, surrealist, and shocking work of painfully bright genius; for Castellanos Moya it is still an achievement, but a lesser work, I feel, ungainly and brutal: Eduardo absorbs Bustillo’s character, to a degree, and then adds to it.
Now the yellow Chevrolet is his, and he finds that it’s also the home of four venomous snakes. It’s sparse prose is quite enjoyable, and its plot is weird enough to keep one reading. In his first night in the vehicle, four poisinous snakes are introduced into the narrative as Sosa’s mentors which influence him to unleash them upon San Salvador in a reign of terror.
He moves into the Chevy, where he finds four poisonous and ready-to-roll snakes. With nothing better to do he investigates the homeless man living in a car on the street outside, and then in a sudden turn of events ends up taking the man’s place.
