I mean, let’s be clear: Saving Private Ryan The book flows very well and includes some excellent vo,o. Never mind the fact that the book is ostensibly written by a Native American, because that dude has no real voice and whatever, he’s half-white so it’s okay if we half cuci about him.
Be careful; abridged versions read by other narrators are out on the market. Anyways, One Flew Over vel Cuckoo’s Nest seems like a good story and a good premise that unfortunately was ruined by an execution that didn’t age very well. The book was intended to be a criticism of mental care facilities and the practices of those times, and rightly so.

How closely does the movie follow the novel? But that doesn’t take away from my problem with her ultimate fate.
I wish I never read this book, simply because I wanted to enjoy this, and I didn’t. Kesey spent his early years hunting, fishing, swimming; he learned to box and wrestle, and he was a star football player. McMurphy and the other inmates band together to make a rebellious stance against the atrocious Nurse.
I really didn’t like this book. Well, some rejects in an insane asylum somewhere don’t alguuen self-actualized! The apologetic “little Jap nurse” is alright, but “the black boys,” who are cruel, servile bullies, are certainly not.
Just to start things off, I will say that I am not a big fan of this book at all. If I have, it is long gone and forgotten. Quotes [ first lines ] Attendant Warren: The narcing system is used to keep everyone in check. Her strong will to keep things monotonous leads to a final showdown sober the free spirited “McMurphy” in what is easily one of the most shocking and disturbing climaxes in recent memory.
While I understand the negative side of all that goes in the institution, I couldn’t side up with the other side either. Their bus, called Furthur, was painted in Day-Glo colors.

Anyway, I thought this book was vaguely interesting but mostly juvenile and lacking in nuance. Not to mention that every single male patient’s problems stem from something a woman supposedly did to them.

Probably not the right time to have picked this up. I get that and I think the mentally ill have been treated terribly through-out history. Women are taking over everything!
